Day 3 at Amazon India Fashion Week Autumn Winter 16 featured a mind boggling 12 designers. We selected the best looks for each designer. Here’s a quick glance:
Mine of Design by Sahai Ambar Pariddi
Tunics and pants, dresses in all silky white, all accessorized with an ethereal collection of headgears, nose accessories and neckpieces, we thought this one took the cake.
Valliyan by Nitya Arora
Nitya Arora too showcased a bunch of jewellery with white ensembles as the backdrop. She too designed headgears, chunky neckpieces and nose rings. Here’s the one we liked best.
Vasundhara Mantri
Wilderness seemed to be her theme and her nature-inspired works featured intricate filigree work mostly in bronze. This headgear and cummerbund combo was really exotic though.
Boroline presents Chandrani Siingh Fllora
Calcutta designer Chandrani presented a fabulous collection, Mrityunjay (read our preview here: “Rising from the ashes,” is how Calcutta designer Chandrani Siingh Fllora describes her collection Mrityunjay to CalcuttaCliques. Mrityunjay is her tribute to Lord Shiva.) in weaved fabrics. This draped dress with a haute front slit accessorized with a monochrome scarf is the one we love.
Shruti Sancheti
Sancheti’s collection was all about modern chic. We selected this particular piece not just because it was worn by showstopper Aditi Rao Hydari, but because of the very in scooped sleeves and the wearable slit skirt worn over churidars. And oh, the sexy print.
Antar Agni by Ujjwal Dubey
Ujjwal Dubey showcased mostly menswear and had long draped jackets, cowl trousers and dhoti pants. This brick red long jacket and comfy pants combo worn with Oxfords is perfect for most occasions.
Divyam Mehta
Mehta’s collection Into The Woods was forest inspired. So deep dark colours and prints were the highlights. This slim-fit jacket trouser combo with a peek-a-boo jungle print shirt was dark, sexy and edgy.
Rohit Kamra
Kamra stuck to his signature riding inspired collection. So loads of bandhgala and breeches. Who better than Bollywood hottie Randeep Hooda to endorse them right? So a white bandhgala and slim fit trousers with interesting button detailing on the sides is what he sashayed the ramp in.
Mynah’s Reynu Tandon
This gorgeous cape-styled long jacket, intricately embroidered, worn over a wide-legged tomato red jumpsuit. Need we say more?
Anupamaa by Anupama Dayal
Her collection is straight from the tribal hill state of Nagaland, complete with the ornate headgears. It was difficult to choose between headgear and dresses. We had a tough time picking out one. Take a look.
Sanchita
From an essentially chic and contemporary collection, this dress, a combo of muted metallics as the body and metallic edges caught our attention.
Pankaj and Nidhi
Army seemed to be the muse for Pankaj and Nidhi this time. We loved the sense of aggression played out in the colour palette and cuts. This high-necked full sleeved bolero and wide-legged jumpsuit was simply mindblowing though.
